After several months on a demo account, I still haven’t figured out where a sound system ends and plain luck begins. I tried entries based on levels and looked for candlestick confirmation, but the results vary greatly from day to day. Sometimes I manage to keep a steady pace, then after a couple of unsuccessful signals I start sabotaging myself.

Right now I’m trying to build a profitable binary options strategy for myself as a set of rules rather than a magic button: one asset, a specific time, a trend filter, and a limit on the number of trades. But I’m wondering whether I’m overcomplicating it. Has anyone actually tested one strategy for at least a month using historical data and a demo account? What turned out to matter more for you—the indicators themselves, or discipline and choosing the right entry moment?
